Enneagram Paths
The Stress Path
Today we are starting the third week of our six weeks series on the Enneagram Basics and Productivity. The Enneagram is one of the tools we use to help disorganized people achieve their goals and increase productivity.
This week in the Uniquely Focused Community and the Terrie Power Coaching social media, we are exploring the stress paths of the Enneagram Types.
Have you ever found yourself stuck in a cycle of stress and anxiety, unable to push away negative thoughts no matter how hard you try?
I know I have.
As an Enneagram nine, that’s definitely something I can relate to. Usually, I’m able to push away those stressful thoughts by distracting myself with other activities or avoiding tasks which is a sign of leaning into my primary core weakness, but sometimes it feels like there’s just no escape.
Recently, I made a minor mistake at work.
Next, I started worrying.
The thoughts kept coming…
What if I look incompetent?
Maybe it cannot be fixed.
I could lose my job over this.
The worst-case scenario had surfaced.
I had moved past my primary type (9) and moved into my stress path (6).
Each Enneagram Type has a stress path that will surface during stress that goes beyond the primary type.
Check out the video with a list of stress behaviors for each type:
When we acknowledge our weaknesses and struggles, we can begin to look for solutions. The solution to the weakness is the virtue that we can strive to achieve, which can bring balance back into our lives. Today, let’s not only examine the core weakness of each Enneagram type but also the virtue that can help us overcome our struggles and reach our full potential. By embracing our virtues, we can achieve personal growth and lead a more fulfilling life.
One exercise is to sit down and list 5 ways your virtue can overcome your core weakness.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Uniquely Yours,
Terrie
